About CalmBridge

Who we are, what we are, and what we are not — in plain terms.

If You Are in Crisis

CalmBridge is not a crisis service. If you need immediate help, please reach out now:

  • 📞988 — Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Call or text 988 — 24/7, free, confidential.
  • 🚨911 — for emergencies involving immediate danger.
  • 💬741741 — Crisis Text Line. Text HOME to 741741, 24/7.

Who We Are

CalmBridge is a self-assessment and care navigation platform — not a clinical care provider. We help people reflect on their mental wellness and connect with licensed mental health professionals.

CalmBridge was built by Nchem R Takol (Ruddy), a community support worker and case manager with 18 years of experience in mental health and public health. Ruddy holds an MS in Human Services & Public Health and is a PhD candidate.

Community Support Worker & Case Manager — 18 years in mental health

"After nearly two decades working directly with people experiencing mental health crises, I noticed that the people who needed help most were the ones who waited longest to get it — not because they didn't want help, but because they didn't know if what they were experiencing was 'enough' to justify seeking it. CalmBridge was built to answer that single question: where do I stand?"

Ruddy is NOT:

  • A licensed clinician, therapist, psychologist, or psychiatrist
  • A licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), or psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP)
  • A medical doctor of any kind
  • Authorized to provide clinical diagnoses or prescribe treatment

What CalmBridge Is

CalmBridge is a self-assessment tool designed to help you reflect on your mental wellness using validated screening instruments — the PHQ-9 and GAD-7. These are the same tools used in clinical settings to screen for depression and anxiety.

CalmBridge is also a care navigation service. After completing the assessment, you can connect with licensed mental health professionals who are matched to your needs and location.

  • Self-assessment and reflection on mental wellness
  • Validated PHQ-9 and GAD-7 screening (clinical screening instruments, not diagnostic)
  • Plain-language clarity report with severity level and action guidance
  • Matching to licensed mental health professionals

What CalmBridge Is NOT

CalmBridge does NOT provide clinical services. Specifically, we are not:

  • A diagnostic tool — PHQ-9 and GAD-7 are screening instruments, not diagnostic instruments
  • A medical device
  • A clinical care provider or treatment service
  • A substitute for a qualified mental health professional
  • An emergency or crisis service

Results are not a diagnosis. CalmBridge scores reflect your self-reported experience and are intended for personal clarity and care navigation — not as a medical or clinical determination. Always consult a licensed mental health professional for diagnosis, treatment planning, or clinical concerns.

Scope of Service

CalmBridge is designed for adults (18+) who want personal clarity on their mental health and a pathway to professional support. The service is especially helpful for people who have been wondering whether what they're experiencing "counts" — and whether it's worth seeking help.

CalmBridge does not treat mental health conditions. The platform does not prescribe medication, provide therapy, or deliver clinical interventions. If you are experiencing significant mental health challenges, please seek professional support.

Limitations

  • Self-assessment cannot replace a clinical evaluation
  • Results are not a diagnosis and do not constitute medical advice
  • CalmBridge cannot respond to crisis situations — please use the resources above
  • The platform is not a substitute for qualified mental health treatment
  • Screening instruments have limitations — false positives and false negatives are possible

What You Can Use CalmBridge For

  • Self-assessment and personal reflection on your mental wellness
  • Understanding your PHQ-9 and GAD-7 scores and what they may indicate
  • Receiving plain-language guidance on next steps based on your scores
  • Being connected with a licensed mental health professional for follow-up support
